Sprucing up a little garland...

Today I have been working on creating a fabulous garland trimmed entryway! I started out with 14 feet of plain spiky, wire garland and adding many little accessories to spruce it up! The garland was found at Hobby Lobby 1/2 off. Total cost on garland was only 8 bucks! My next stop was Golightly's Antique store where I managed to pick up a truckload.. I mean a few accessories and ornaments. Raz imports seems to be the brand that catches my eyes most often and I am thinking that I am going to have to order from them directly next year!
So, Here is the garland pre-decor... BORING!

Here are all of the little beauties I added onto the garland for a spruce up!

After poking in the leaves and berries... after & hanging the glittery little ornaments and sweeping the floor 5 times.... Ta-Da!One gorgeous "Winter Wonderland" Garland!

Hope you love it! It is back to work tomorrow, so no more decorating until next weekend!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

This house is getting a major holiday makeover! We have been shopping, working, shopping some more and hanging ornaments and finding a home for stockings and fluffing a tree and shopping and working and EATING A LOT of turkey yumminess! You can read about the feast my Mom & I worked on here, @ buybedazzled.blogspot.com. (My Mom's Company's Blog)

So, we began with a search for a tree... our little bitty apartment tree was just not going to cut it this year! First we went to Hobby Lobby-- they were sold out! Next, we went to Garden Ridge and got a 9 foot pre-lit tree for $149.00 half as much as a tree at Hobby Lobby, awesome!

So, here are a few pictures of the progress... I am not sure that I am actually finished yet. I will be adding on for a few more days, I am sure!

Details... I went with all Gold ornaments, 3 styles.

Our stockings were not hung by the chimney with care... Hope Santa will still fill them! Our stockings are hung on our entertainment center's shelf instead!

And last and LEAST... here is my measly little entryway table! I am most definitely adding on to this area in the next week or so! It is so bare and I want to be overwhelmingly "Christmas".... looks like I will be doing a bit more shopping!

'Tis the season to be jolly... Fa La La La -La La La!

My Favorite Things...

Last night I watched Oprah's Favorite Things on my DVR and then this morning I came across a favorite things party at 320 Sycamore! I am happy to join the party!!

My top ten..

My number 1 is Taylor, my loving and adorable husband!

Next, my family... my beautiful mom & sister and my step dad and brother!

Ace is our first baby... he is a Maltese. In this picture, he is about 8 weeks old. So CUTE!!

Here is Ace now, a 6 pound baby!

My worst addiction is Dr. Pepper! I know, it makes my teeth nasty... but it is my daily do!

Always has been and probably always will be!

Almay Dial up Mascara is l.o.v.e.l.y. You are able to choose how thick you want to lay it on and that is freedom at it's finest! :)

Oh how I love Wednesday nights on ABC... The Middle and Modern Family are my absolute most favorite things!

Mi Cocina Mexican Restaurant is my most favorite date night place.

The crispy tacos are the BEST!

I am news addict! During the summer, I watch the morning, noon, evening (both) and the nightly news everyday. I watch WFAA in DFW and my days would not be complete without this!

I love my job! LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE it... Not many people can say that! I love my bosses, my coworkers and my students! I teach 3rd grade and could not be more happy!

And Last... but certainly not the least! Our house! This has been such a fun and exciting for Taylor and me! We have been able to do so many things to this house and share so many wonderful moments with our friends and family!

Christmas Decorating Day 1

I am so excited to be decorating my new house for Christmas! I have been looking at so many wonderful blogs in search for inspiration.... but I do not have time or the money to do all the fabulous things I have been seeing! I am a school teacher and I work up to the 20th of December and Taylor has starting studying for finals officially today! Taylor is a law student and I like to call myself a law school widow in November and December!

Anyways, last night Taylor climbed up into the attic and pulled out my one box of Christmas stuff! (YIPPIE) I decorated the window/ buffet in our dining room with all of my old "apartment" stuff! Here is what we have so far!

I cannot wait to get the tree up and the rest of my decor! But, I will do that Thanksgiving weekend! Check back soon! I am making some DIY gifts that your friends will love! I will be baking, sharing the recipes and so so so much more! Christmas season is here!!!!!

Show us Your Life.. Bathrooms

I found a blog that I am totally addicted to.... Kelly's Corner! This week she is hosting a link party that features bathrooms! So to be a part of the fun, here are my bathrooms!

This is what I like to call our "potty closet". You can read more about it here!

And here is our Guest bathroom... It is all black and white, just like our guest bedroom!

The big "A" is from Anthropologie... it was one of our first wedding shower gifts from my friend Courtney! The rug, shower curtain and towels all came from the one and only Target! I am sad to admit that I do not have a single picture of our master bathroom, its not ready to be shown yet!

Thanksgiving Prep.

I am not hosting Thanksgiving at my house this year, my mom does that stuff still! But I am going to help her decorate the table and create a fabulous tablescape. I have gold charger plates and some random candle holders and things.... I am on the mad search for some great ideas! So far I am liking these ideas....

One desert we won't be able to resist is the chocolate fondue with homemade pound cake! As a wedding gift, Taylor and I were given a fondue set and this is a great time to use it!

For a quick, cheap and easy centerpiece I plan on filling vases with acorns or pecans along with a candle. This will cover a lot of the space easily. Naturally, I will reuse the same idea for Christmas! I can't wait to decorate for Christmas.... WAIT! Let's get through Thanksgiving first!

Halloween has come and gone...

However, I have a couple of more Halloween things to share! This weekend my hubby and I did not get to see the cute lil trick or treaters on Sunday night because we were at the WORLD SERIES!!!! (GO RANGERS!) I was a bit bummed out, because as a new homeowner I was looking forward to my very first night of trick or treating! I guess there is always next year & now that I have seen everyone's amazing Halloween decor and DIY ideas-- I will be able to step it up some more! Our first event this weekend was a Halloween party with my co-workers. We were asked to bring a scary appetizer and an adult beverage. I brought along these adorable "mummies" and some "vampire blood"!

The "mummies" were pretzel rods dipped and drizzled with white chocolate! They were delicious and so cute! The "vampire blood" was just some cheap red wine at Target! Here are some pictures of the adorable mummies!

Remember I said we were at the World Series on Sunday.... and I felt guilty not passing out candy! So, I left a huge bowl full on the driveway that was totally wiped out when we got home! Ace, our baby maltese, was home and he is a bit of a nervous freak and if he could hear or see anyone outside he would probably have a heart attack! We decided to cover the entryway with spider webs-- to detour everyone away from the door!

So while we were here.....

Our house was looking like this...

Cutest Pumpkin pup ever!

Now, Let's get ready for Thanksgiving y'all!
