Texas Style Wedding Shower

A couple of weeks ago, I helped my Mom host a shower for a great childhood friend of mine. Here are some of the details...

The color scheme was browns and creams. This was so much fun to do with my Mom. It fell on Spring Break, and I was off work so I was able to spend the entire with my parents and work on the shower details. A few of my favorite things were:

Mason Jars as vases

Monogrammed W's on the jars

Burlap Centerpiece decor

The Moss "W" on the cake table *More on this to come soon*

Here is a little tablescape image...

Moss W-- Ballard inspired! I will be posting a tutorial on this project this week!

The W's on the jars were made with my handy dandy Cricut machine. I cut 3'' letters from brown vinyl and stuck them right on the jars. I liked the personal touch it added for the couple!

The invitations were a great hit! I ordered them from Minted.com.

They were so classy and set the standards for the shower. The "Texas Style" was great. Everyone wore boots and hats-- I loved it!

Spurs optional... so cute!

Have you hosted a wedding shower before??? Post a comment with a link to your own post about a wedding shower. I would love to see what you have done!

Thank You Amber!

WOW, I was given a little blog award from Amber... at Brunch with Amber! You are sweet & I appreciate your kindness. I hope you will all check out Amber's blog today.

Here are my Seven Facts

1. I love my job! Most people probably don't love their job as much as I love mine. Having 22 precious children laughing and smiling all day long is all that we all need to fill our hearts with joy!

2. I married my best friend... LUCKY ME!

3. I hate seafood, I am actually afraid of it. Fish in general creep me out.

4. My first car was a lime green VW Beetle and it was standard. I was not allowed to get a driver's license if I could not drive a standard. (Taylor cannot drive one. ha ha. )

5. Every car I ever had has been a Volkswagen! What can I say, I am a loyal customer.

6. My dream job is to be a news reporter!

7. I saved the most embarrasing fact about me for last. I do not know how to swim. I can doggie paddle, but that's about it!!

Burlap has so many uses around here...

Burlap has been one of my most favorite fabrics to play around with. I started thinking how much burlap is actually around my house and used in my gifts! I thought would share with you all some of my best burlap uses over the past 8 months or so!

1. Burlap Monogram Frame

2. Patio Furniture Pillow

3. Ribbon on Christmas Gifts

4. Gift Wrap

Here are some pictures...

This last picture is my most recent use for burlap. I used this sack to cover a trash can that was a wedding shower gift. If you look closely, you will notice the cute little metal W. That is the last initial of the couple getting married-- I thought it added a nice personal touch!

HOLY MOLY have I been off the bloggin' bandwagon

Taylor surprised me with this cake at my 25th birthday party!

This cake was for a couple's shower that Taylor and I helped host. It was delicious!
