We helped A LOT!

Hello--  It has been a long time since I have written a post!  It's been so long that I did not even know blogger changed its format.  It took me a minute to figure it all out.  What I was able to see right away however, my top traffic source: Karen at Home!  That's so fun to know on a daily basis!

Taylor and I have been SUPER busy lately...  his brother got married last weekend and we helped out a lot with the rehearsal dinner.  I enjoyed helping out and it was my last week at home with Luke so I was plenty entertained.  Taylor and I completed a lot of little DIY projects for the decorations.
Here is a photo overload from the dinner.

We lined all of the tables with burlap runners... so simple.

The bride and groom had their own fancy mason jar drinking glasses.

The centerpieces were various mason jars filled with sand or sugar and a tealight candle.

The drink station was my favorite part... beer, wine and water were served from large galvanized tubs.
Tea and Lemonade were served in the dispenser but the door was the best part!  I will be writing a more detailed post on that project later!

The food table was pretty too!  Each picture frame said what food was served.  The frames were creamy and I typed on shabby chic looking scrapbook paper.  They were cute!

More to come soon & our Sweet Baby Luke's 2 month update!

Fun little birthday gift

One of Taylor's friends celebrated his 26th birthday this weekend....
what in the world do you give a 26 year old guy for their birthday?!?

Here is what we gave him!

We grabbed a handful (or two) mini bottles of liquor, a package of golf balls (vase filler),
a plastic vase.... and with the help of some skewer sticks and a hot glue gun
we put it all together in about 5 minutes.

It was a great, easy and simple "manly" birthday gift!!

A little DIY Project

I love love love the Dear Lillie blog... and their home. I fell in love with her kitchen and the cutest little chalkboard ever. See it here! So, we took her idea and added a slight twist to make our own version of this fun kitchen area.

We first painted our area with a magnetic primer. This is so awesome because our little an is older, he an sit on the floor and play with magnetic letters and numbers while I am cooking! After the magnetic prier dried, we painted the area with chalkboard paint.

Now, I am not an artist at all-- but you'll see a picture of our chalk area down below and it is no comparison to the area at the Dear Lillie home.
