Week 36 and lots of happenings...

(My pictures always have a shadow... oh well!)

This begins week 36! EXCITING! I am ready for my first "weekly" appointment to find out what all is going on with Mr. Luke. My appointment is not until Thursday, so I will have to be patient. Keeping our fingers crossed for lots and lots of positive news.

In the meantime, Taylor and I have been getting very prepared for Luke's arrival. We have done a lot in the nursery as far as cleaning, washing clothes, decorating, putting bedding in and all of that fun stuff. We added "shelving" over the changing table today! I found this nursery on pinterest and it was my inspiration for the shelves! I think they turned out pretty stinking cute... and are holding some of our items perfectly!

We also spent this weekend gathering all for the things for my hospital bag. That was fun to shop for... I love buying toiletries and socks and girly stuff like that! I looked online for a lot of guidance as to what I might really NEED. This website and list seemed to be the most helpful!

Last week and weekend I had 2 showers. One was at my school and the other was with all of my Mother in Law's peeps.... and a few of my greatest friends! The showers were so wonderful and I loved them both. The decor was too cute and it was just an all around great time! I was given so many wonderful gifts and useful items. My favorite items have been all of the clothes (just wait until you see our son's closet... imagine if I was having a girl) and lullaby CD's. My sister gave us the coolest CD's!

Lastly, I have to share this gift with you... On pinterest, I found this blanket long before we knew if Luke was a boy or a girl. Our sweet friend Kathy made it for us in a version fit for Luke! It is soooo adorable and she even made a few burp cloths to go with it! Thank you Kathy, we love the blanket! Here is the link to the original pin on my pinterest... Baby Blanket! Sorry for such cruddy pictures, I took them on my phone-- enjoy!

Week 34 and My First Shower

This weeks marks week 34... only 6 more to go! We are getting prepared around the house like crazy. Taylor has been on a "cleaning out" rampage and making room for all of Luke's goodies! I was given so many wonderful gifts at the shower this weekend and it is nice to get it all here and set up. Here are some of the items we received...

Our stroller and car seat are the Peg Preggo brand from Buy Buy Baby... we chose them for many many many reasons after making many many many trips to the store to compare.
Taylor got them both out of the box and all set up today!

Here is my Mom and me at my first shower!
Check back later this week for updates from the house,
there are lots and lots of changes!

Week 33 and a New Year!

Happy 2012 to you all! Taylor and I are both looking forward to a great new year... lots of changes are headed our way! This weekend marks the beginning of week 33 for me and Mr. Luke--- not too much longer to go-- and also our New Year's Eve party. Thanks to pinterest, the party turned out great! Here is a picture recap!

Week 33 with Luke... things are going great! We are just trucking right along! I am looking forward to my first shower this next weekend. That should be fun!

Our New Year's Eve dessert... Strawberry Shortcake on a stick. Thanks to pinterest, these were a hit! They were such an easy thing to get together for our guests too!
Here is the link to them on my pinterest board, enjoy!

We also served these SUPER DELICIOUS Seven Layer Dips in a cup. These can also be seen on my pinterest board. These were simple to make and even better to clean up! Next time I plan on using a piping bag (or just a ziploc baggy) to make the layers more perfect and distinct.. But all in all, these were great for the party!

My Sister and I both were given "Babycakes" Cake pop makers for Christmas and we used them this weekend for the first time. They are AWESOME! We learned a few tricks to make them cake pops turn out just right. They were yummy and we made way too many, so we ate way too many :).

The finishing touch to the party was our decor as found on The TomKat Studio website. These printables were great and cost zero dollars, except to print them at Fed Ex because I am out of ink at home!! Here is a link to my Party board on pinterest, the printables are there too!

HAPPY 2012!!!
