Luke is 5 Months Old!

5 months... how fast the time has gone already!  I have loved spending my summer with Luke and needless to say I am dreading returning to work and leaving him with a sitter.  But, a momma's got to do what a momma's got to do.

5 Month Stats:

weighing in a 15 pounds, 11 ounces
measuring at PROBABLY 26"
eating peaches, bananas & apples
has 2 teeth (bottom)
Loving:
swimming, talking, tummy time, staying awake for very long periods of time,
sitting in a highchair to play, petting Ace and playing the Baby Finger app.

It has been a great month, cannot wait to see what the next month has in store for us!

Mantle Update

After last week's post... I realized we needed to vamp up our mantle!  After looking back on my "Home" board on pinterest, I came up with a few ideas.  Thanks to Staples' photo enlargements and Hobby Lobby's 1/2 Picture Frames, here is the updated mantle!

The only new items are the "home" sign and the picture & frame.  Total cost $45!

Show Us Your Life: Mantles

When I saw Kelly's Korner was hosting a mantle party, I realized...  our mantle is in desperate need of some love.  Right now, there is NOT A THING on it.  I redecorated our entertainment center and snagged a few items from the mantle.  Hopefully we can get the mantle fixed up soon.  In the meantime, I thought we could stroll down "mantle lane" and look back at the mantle over the past couple of years.

See, we don't actually have a fireplace in our house.  I found this mantle
at an antique store and loved it.  We have used the snot out of this!
It was first used in our bedroom, this was obviously the "moving in" stage.

We later moved into our entryway, which is where it still lives today.
My mantle needs lots of love!

This was our mantle last summer, looking good.
But still needs something better.

Here was our New Year Mantle 2011.
This was fun, but of course only temporary.

Like I said before today, the mantle has NOT A THING on it.
I am desperately searching pinterest and hoping to find great ideas.

Check back soon & I hope to have an updated mantle post  :)

Luke's 4 Month Update and July the 4th

Little Luke Boy is already 4 months old... Where in the world has the time gone?
This has by far been the greatest month.  He is sitting in his bumbo seat, eating baby food, smiling at everything,  laughing out loud, sleeping like a champ(10-11 hours).  It is just great!

4 Month Stats:

26 3/4" tall
(we know this was wrong, but the Dr. never re-measured, so we will go with it.)
14.6 lbs
42" head circumference
Luke is eating bananas & peaches so far.
We are doing peas next, followed by carrots.
He starting rolling over some.
I can now hold Luke like a real baby, propped up on my hip and he loves it!
Luke also celebrated his First 4th of July today.

and some pictures...

he was finished with that little photo shoot  :)

Luke's Favorites

Here are some of Luke's (and mine too!) most favorite items so far!

1.  Baby Touch and Feel Books.  We love these.  I try my very best to read to Luke as often as possible, hopefully he enjoys it.  These books are great because on each page there is a touchable picture.
2. Infantino Play Mat. o.m.g. gotta love this!  We use this mat every single day.  It is great for tummy time and just playing and laying and visiting and talking.  It's great!
3. Fisher Price Swing and Seat.  This has been an absolute lifesaver for me and my back and my arms.  ha.  Luke loves to take cat-naps in this swing during the day.  It has vibration and music and the various speeds of a swing.  The best part-- it's size.  It is not a massive (take over your living room) item, it is perfect!
4.  Wubbanub Pacifier.  We would not have made it through month 2 without this pacifier.  It is perfect for Luke.  He loves to hold it and not even suck on the paci.  Great gift item for sure, I will be giving one of these as shower gifts from now until eternity!
5.  Carter's Footed PJ's.  I love them, Luke loves them and they are so adorable!  You can't beat the price either.  We just stock up during Carter's sales.

What were some of your must have baby items?
I need to know for further on down the timeline.
If Luke needs it, he will get it!  :)
